St. Colmcilles begin preparations to defend their Championship title in 2010 and UWIC students get stuck in

Four in a row county champions, St Colmcilles Cardiff, have begun their pre-season training in preparation to defend the county title and regain the league title in the coming 2010 season. A few of us are still carrying a little extra holiday weight from Christmas just passed (and earlier ones) so a little running around before we hit into the season is not a bad idea. If you are interested in playing the please contact us. All skill levels and beginners welcome.

Also, on Friday night, 5th of March, a Gaelic football introductory session was held at University of Wales Institute Cardiff (UWIC). There was a fantastic turnout from UWIC students, men and women, with a great range of abilities and fitness levels. Members of the St. Colmcilles GAA team were also on hand to help out. It is expected that as a result of the levels of interest and very positive feedback received it will not be long until UWIC have both a men’s and women’s team on the field. If you are interested in playing or popping down to a training session to try it out then please contact us and keep an eye out for Gaelic Football posters in the university.
